Pointers To Save Heart Ache On Clip In Hair Extensions
Clip in hair extensions create a fantastic accessory to your crucial beauty accessories and they allow a lot more varied hairstyles to suit any occasion. They’re becoming increasingly more common and ladies are keen to acquire them so they can attain that celebrity look themselves. Nonetheless, not each set of clip in hair extensions is the exact same, and with vendors keen on selling clip in hair extensions to the growing market, buyers must be aware of what they are purchasing. So to make sure you might be acquiring value for funds and excellent top quality clip in hair extensions, one need to know what features to look for.
Price is not the only thing you should be considering when purchasing clip in hair extensions. The most important features you need to consider are the quality of the hair, the overall thickness and the way that the set is constructed. The correct combination of these factors will ensure that you are buying good quality clip in hair extensions that will give you the look you want and will last longer. Your hair can be your best and most important fashion accessory and good quality clip in hair extensions can add to this significantly.
The 1st thing to contemplate when getting clip in hair extensions is the top quality of the hair. To attain a natural look to your hair extensions it really is crucial to pick products that are made from 100% Remy human hair. Several clip in hair extensions are made from a combination of real human hair and synthetic hair which may possibly look realistic however it won’t give you the capacity to treat the hair like your own. Having clip in hair extensions which are made from 100% human hair means that you will be able to make use of curling irons, hair straighteners, shampoos, conditioners and treatments and you will also be able to colour the hair with ease. Picking Remy hair is also crucial due to the fact it means that the cuticle of the hair is still intact after processing as well as the all of the hair runs inside the exact same direction from root to tip. These elements will make sure that the hair lasts longer and reduces tangling.
The second thing you need to contemplate when handing over your difficult earned dollars for a set of clip in hair extensions is the thickness of the set that you might be getting. This just isn’t a reference to how thick or course the strands are but how much thickness or volume of hair there’s inside the total set of hair you might be getting. This is crucial due to the fact you do not need to acquire hair which is too thin. Thin hair extensions will regrettably look thin at the bottom compared to the rest of your hair and will consequently look fake and obvious and will likely be a waste of funds. The weight of hair extensions, combined with the length is what determines the overall thickness of the hair. The a lot more the hair weighs, the a lot more hair there is and consequently the thicker the set is as well as the a lot more luxurious your hair will likely be. The most widespread length is 20 inches and consequently a thick and luxurious set need to be approximately 160g. For this length it really is not recommended to get anything much less than 120g. So should you wish to get longer or shorter clip in hair extensions, you’ll be able to use this weight as a general gauge to decide the thickness.
The way the set of clip in hair extensions is constructed is the third feature you need to consider when choosing which ones to buy. This factor is comprised of several things you may wish to know such as the number of pieces or wefts in the set, their size, and is the hair double-wefted or not. The number of pieces (also called wefts) in the set should be on average be 7 to 10. Having 7 to 10 pieces will enable you to evenly distribute the hair around your head to help you achieve a more natural look. Your set should have larger pieces for the back of your head and smaller ones for the side area. Also make sure that the wefts are what is called double-wefted, which is two rows of the sewn hair (weft) stitched together, so you can achieve a fuller look without having to have too many pieces. Please also make sure that the clip in hair extensions are made with secure silicon-backed clips for a more comfortable fit.
When picking which sort or brand of clip in hair extensions you ought to acquire, it really is undoubtedly worth your whilst to contemplate the top quality and usability of the item you might be getting. The 3 principal features you ought to contemplate are the top quality of the hair employed, the weight or thickness of the set of hair, and also how the set of clip in hair extensions is constructed. Ensuring the most effective in all these features will allow you to acquire with confidence and have clip in hair extensions which are not only the most effective searching but also probably the most practical and will supply you with gorgeous lengthy hair for significantly longer too.

How to Care for Hair Extensions from a Tampa Beauty and Hair Salon
How to Care for Hair Extensions from a Tampa Beauty and Hair Salon
Article by Salon Monaco Tampa
A lot of women these days use hair extensions to enhance their natural hair. Hair extensions can make your hair thicker or longer. It can come in any length, texture and color. A professional stylist at a Tampa beauty and hair salon can blend it in naturally with your own hair through the proper haircut. You can also get hair color and highlights to match your natural hair to your hair extensions. If you have curly hair, you can have keratin hair treatment to match your hair with straighter hair extensions. Among the many hair salons in Tampa, Salon Monaco is your best choice.
Once you know that you can trust your hair professional, you should follow his or her instructions on how to care for your hair extensions. After all, there are many different types of hair extensions and your hair professional knows the specifics of what was used for you. Following are some general tips on the care for hair extensions, though.
You should wash your hair and hair extensions to keep clean, as always. The difference with hair extensions is that you should first comb or brush carefully through your natural hair and extensions to remove tangles before washing your hair. This will prevent more serious tangling. Your hair and extensions should also be wetted down gradually because hair follicles swell when wet. You should also wash your hair with your head upright. Wash in a downward motion to avoid creating new tangles.
Tangles should likewise be prevented when swimming or simply exercising. Salt water, chlorine and sweat can cause tangled and mated hair. If it is impossible to swim with your head out of the water, wear a swimming cap. Make sure your hair is arranged neatly beneath it, preferably tied up in a pony tail first. When exercising, a pony tail is also best.
Sleeping also tangles hair. Sleeping with wet hair results in even more tangles. You should therefore dry your hair completely before going to bed. It would also be better to tie your hair or wrap it before lying down.
When you have hair extensions you should allow your hair and extensions to dry naturally because heat from the hair dryer will loosen the bonds that connect the extensions to your natural hair. Blow drying and the use of curling irons will also have to be avoided when styling because they will produce the same side effects.
Your hair and extensions should be combed or brushed very gently. Use only a soft bristle brush. Combing and brushing should always be downward and should start from the very ends of the hair in order to gently disengage tangles. This should be done two to three times a day to keep hair tangle free.
The appropriate leave in conditioner will keep hair soft. If overdone, however, hair conditioner itself can build up and be the cause of tangling. This can also happen with other hair products. Hair products that contain alcohol should be avoided because they dry out the hair. Your hair professional should be consulted on the right products to use.
Even the best care can not undo the damage done by the improper application of hair extensions, though. In fact, there are even reports that the wrong ways of attaching hair extensions can lead to hair loss. You should, therefore, trust only the best Tampa beauty and hair salon for your hair extensions. In fact, you should only go to the best for your haircut, hair color, highlights and keratin hair treatment, as well. That means going to Salon Monaco in Tampa, of course.

Hair Extensions San Diego Mariomax
Article by Newbie lab
Some are synthetic and some are made of human hair. The natural hair of Caucasians is different from that of Asians or Afro-Caribbeans and you should choose an extension that will match your own hair.
They come in many varieties and can be pre-colored, pre-highlighted or pre-permed with curls or a body wave. Depending on how it was attached, you may need to have your hair extension re-done after 6 or 8 weeks, or it might last up to 4 months. Re-attaching will always be periodically necessary because our natural hair continues to grow, the bonding agent becomes loose, life happens, and you’ll need to re-adjust and refresh your hair’s appearance.
What are hair extensions? Hair extensions are hairpieces that can be attached to your natural hair or scalp; they enhance the thickness of your hair or the length. There are several kinds, but the most popular ones are. Strands, small clusters of about 30 pieces of hair. Wefts, slightly larger curtains of hair, joined at the top and free flowing at the ends. The best wefts are hand-made, not machine-made.. Braids and dreadlocks, which are pre-wound.
How are hair extensions attached?. Strands are woven, glued, or clipped to your natural hair. If they’re clipped, you can take them off easily any time. If they’re glued, various bonding agents may be used and care must be taken to protect your scalp and natural hair.. For wefts, your stylist will make a small corn row or weave in your natural hair, and sew the weft to this weave. This method uses no chemicals.. Braids are usually woven in with your own hair and again no chemicals are used.
What kind of hair extension would best suit me? That’s a very personal matter and should be decided between you and your stylist. There are extensions for every kind of hair, even thin and baby-fine hair. Your stylist will assess your hair type, discuss how you would like to look and whether it’s possible given your particular circumstances and hair status, and explain alternatives. When an extension is decided upon, she will personally customize it to match your hair, will attach it, explain how she’s doing it, and give you information on how to care for it.
How do I care for my hair extension?. Hair extensions can be shampooed, styled and brushed the same as your natural hair, but don’t try to alter their color. This should be professionally done.. The most important thing is to be gentle with it so as to preserve the bond attaching it.. Use a soft bristle brush and brush out tangles from the bottom ends up towards your head.. At night, to avoid matting, tie it up or braid it if it’s fairly long, and never sleep with wet or damp hair.. Avoid using any silicone-based products or conditioners on the extension where it is bonded to your natural hair, as this will make the extension slip off.
Does it hurt to get a hair extension? No, not when it’s properly done. In the first day or two it will feel a little heavy perhaps, and this added weight on your head may feel slightly uncomfortable until you get used to it. The process of attaching it should not hurt at all. If it does, something isn’t right. Sometimes if the cornrow method is being used, the weaving might be done too tightly, pulling too hard on your scalp. This can even cause headaches. But you should not accept this. The weaving doesn’t have to be so tight that it’s painful.
You may come across stories of how a person’s hair was broken, burned, or otherwise damaged by their hair extension. The odds are that this person had it done by an untrained stylist, or one with little experience.Hair extensions, as their name suggests, are sections of hair added to your own natural hair, giving it added volume and length, even changing its style. Hair Extensions can be real or synthetic. The most expensive and most natural looking extensions are made from human hair. Other alternatives are animal hair, treated human hair, and synthetic fibers.
Hair extensions are available in many different colors, textures, styles, and lengths. A skilled stylist can choose hair extensions that are virtually indistinguishable from your own hair. Extensions made from human hair can be styled after application. This enables wearers to have greater flexibility and naturalness in their daily style. Human Hair Extensions, on the other hand, is colored and styled before application and cannot be changed.
Hair extensions can be applied in a variety of ways depending on your needs and budget. For a fun, inexpensive, and temporary change of style, consider clip-on extensions. These are available at most department stores. Ponytail extensions are popular choices in clip-ons. Though clip-ons are generally not available in subtle color variations, they do come in all of the more common shades.
For a larger commitment in time and money, hair extensions can also be attached to hair by weaving, sewing, braiding, gluing, and tubing. Some of these methods can last from two to six months with proper application and maintenance. These methods should be performed in a salon. To determine which method best suits your lifestyle and your hair, do your research and speak to a qualified professional. For the health of your natural hair, make sure the person applying the extensions is a licensed cosmetologist.
With today’s new Hair Extensions you can have long, luscious longs without the hassle of growing it.

Activity Level and interests
You do need an extra care if you play sports or spend a lot of time at the beach because these activities can affect your hair. For example, if you are an athlete with oily hair, you may need to wash your hair after working up a sweat during games. But if you are a lifeguard or a swimmer, sun and saltwater (or the chlorine in pool water) can just dry your hair out, no matter what type of hair.If you are exposed to sun, wind and other elements, you may want to use a shampoo designed for dry hair or use a conditioner. It is an additional protection for your hair if you wear hat when you are outdoors.

How to Apply a Lace Front Wig
Lace wigs are not just for celebrities anymore. Even though many women are buying lace wigs online and in stores, there are not always enough qualified and affordable stylists to apply them. Some women prefer to apply the wig at home for privacy reasons while others do not want to pay for what they can do themselves. Whatever the reason, here is a simple step-by-step guide to applying a lace wig.
Application Preparation
Before applying any type of lace wig, you must purchase the proper supplies and prepare your own hair. Supplies include:
1 Lace front wig
1 Skin toned wig cap or Ace bandage wrap (optional)
1 Set of tweezers
Salon Quality Cutting Scissors
Bonding Agent (Glue or Tape)
Multiple hair clips and ties
Rubbing Alcohol
Skin protectant
If using glue:
Powdered makeup
Q-Tips
Suggested but not required:
Knot Sealer product i.e. Seal the Knot
Lace Cap Protectant Spray i.e. TDI Lace Cap Protectant
Once you have all of your supplies, you are ready to prepare your own hair. You will need to wash and condition your own hair before installing the lace wig. To keep your hair healthy and scalp from itching, a good wash and deep conditioner are suggested. Make sure the hair is completely dry and moisturized. If you have damaged hair or split ends, a trim is also encouraged. One of the primary reasons to wear a lace wig is promote healthy hair while having versatility.
After cleansing the hair and doing any of the suggested hair treatments, you have 2 options. Some women choose to wear a skin toned wig cap under the lace wig for added security while others simply brush their hair back and then apply. If you choose to wear the wig cap make sure that it matches your skin tone. You can braid your hair underneath the cap or just wrap it.
A great idea to create an even more realistic looking scalp is to apply Ace bandage. Ace bandage is a very inexpensive athletic bandage for muscle injuries that can be purchased at your local drugstore. It clings to itself so no glue or tape is applied to your hair or scalp. The texture of the bandage gives a bumpy appearance which mimics the scalp appearance underneath the lace front wig. It simply needs to be wrapped around the head either on top of a regular wig cap or directly to the hair. Make sure to cleanse your hairline with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely.
If you decided to purchase the suggested products, your wig will last far longer than others. The knot sealer helps to keep your lace wig from shedding during regular brushing and styling. Spray the product on the inside of the lace wig cap. Let it dry and then lightly blow dry. Next, apply the lace cap protectant. This will keep your lace wig cap strong and last longer. Since lace wears out over time, this is a great way to protect the lace front wig cap. Spray on the inside of the lace wig cap being careful to not get directly on the hair. Spray moderately so the product does not soak through the lace wig cap. Once dry, apply a second coat. Let this completely dry for at least one hour. Now you are ready to begin applying the wig.
A lace front wig has lace around the front perimeter of the hair from ear to ear. Depending on the lace wig that you purchase, it may be stretch lace from ear to ear or plain lace. It is suggested that you purchase a lace wig with French lace as Swiss lace is extremely delicate and should be professionally applied.
First, apply the skin protectant to your own hairline. While allowing this to dry prepare the lace front wig. Pin all of the hair back into a ponytail or bun. Any remaining hair near the hairline or layered hair should be pinned back with clips. When applying the wig you do not want to have hair flying in the way or into any bonding material.
Next, fit the lace wig to your head. This is the time where you will want to look at all angles and play with the lace wig to make sure it is perfectly positioned to your liking. You should then cut the lace. Make sure to not cut too close yet as you are still just eyeballing the positioning. When cutting, leave about 1 ¼ inches of lace remaining.
If the hairline of the lace wig is too thick, take out your tweezers. A thick hairline rarely looks natural and should be altered to adjust the density. Slowly tweeze out one strand of hair at a time. Make sure to not tweeze too many hairs from the same row or section. After every few strands stand back and see if the density of the hairline is improving. This process should take some time. Once hair is removed it can only be professionally reinstalled.
After fitting the hair and fixing the hairline, you are now ready to apply your bonding agent and finish cutting the lace. Since you are certain of the positioning and have tweezed out as much hair from the hairline as you want, you can cut the remaining lace. This cut should be as close to the hairline as possible without cutting into the lace wig hair.
To being bonding, keep your tweezers out if you are using tape. If you are using long tape stripes, 2 should be enough while 4 stripes should be used if you have the shorter normal tape. Gently flip the hairline of the lace wig back so the inside is exposed.
Next, eyeball the area you will tape. If applying the 4 shorter stripes, you should aim for both temples and above both eyebrows. Most tape has 2 paper sheets to peel off. Remove the first sheet by hand and apply. The next sheet can be removed with the tweezers as to not get your hands stuck to the tape. This will ease any frustration and accidentally ruining the tape. Follow this method on the rest of the lace wig hairline with the tape. Once all the tape is applied, readjust the placement so that when you flip the hairline back down, you can press down. Press down the hairline and roll your finger over each stripe of tape to tighten the bond.
If you are using glue to apply your lace front wig, the steps are very similar. Follow the same steps until you flip the hairline of the lace wig back. After flipping the lace wig hairline back, apply a thin layer of the glue near your natural hairline. Allow this to completely dry for about 2-3 minutes. On the lace wig cap, apply tape in the same way as previously listed. Using tape in addition to glue helps to keep the lace wig flat and gives it extra hold. Once the glue is dry on your hairline, press down the lace wig hairline after removing the remaining paper tabs of the tape.
With glue, you may see a minor shine on your scalp. First, make sure to remove excess glue before attempting to reduce glue shine. Take a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and carefully rub over the glue. For minor glue spots, this should loosen up the bond and be able to be easily removed. Once your hairline is dry, you can apply a pressed powder to reduce glue shine.

Hair Systems and Ethnicity
Article by Naomi Mannino
Hair Systems and the African-American Client
There are major differences you should know about in creating and caring for your hair systems, depending on your ethnicity.
The most important thing when it comes to choosing a hair system, no matter who it’s for, is that it has to have that natural frontal hairline that matches how your hairline looked before. “It’s the first thing people notice when you walk in the door,” claims Cynthia Turner-Primus, senior design consultant at HRS of Atlanta, a non-surgical hair replacement provider in Atlanta, Ga., in business for more than 32 years. “If the wind blows, you still want a natural look. You’ll still want to be able to style your hair without any inconvenience. You’ll want to let it down or have an elegant updo from the nape. But above all, you don’t want anyone to know you are losing your hair!”
Another commonality in all ethnicities is that hair systems for men are easier to create than hair systems for women. “Luckily,” says Turner-Primus, “there are lots of tips, tricks and technology now to accomplish this more natural-looking result in women, too.” She explains that in creating the hair system, the four most important differences to capture when designing for a black woman are the frontal hairline, the texture of the hair, the cap tone itself and the hair density. And, finally, a black woman’s hair system requires more diligent care because of the processing of the actual hair, which makes it more fragile.
Designing hair systems made for African-Americans
Hair texture: “Until recently, black hair never really looked natural on a wig or on a hair system: It was too wavy and had a hard shine on it, which does not look natural. Once we were able to get the right process on the hair, hair replacement systems for African-American women became a great option,” says Turner-Primus. “For Asians we’re able to match their hair texture exactly by using 100 percent human Asian hair, and for Caucasian women we use medium 100 percent human Indian hair for its natural wave variation, shine and volume while not being overly dense.”
Frontal hairline: “It doesn’t matter who the individuals are or what their ethnicity is, we are trying to match their natural look, the way it used to be before they lost their hair. And the best way to do that is through pictures. We can hand customize and re-create any hairline whether it needs to blend with existing hair or on a full cap of hair, and we try as hard as possible to mimic the person’s hair as it used to be,” adds Turner-Primus. A lot of the customization to the person’s formal style or ethnicity will happen upon the final cutting, designing and styling of the hair system while the client is wearing it.
Hair density: “Hair density definitely differs among ethnicities,” states Turner-Primus. “While we can match the hair texture by using different types of hair to begin with, we are careful to match the necessary density the person used to wear, as well. Especially for African-American women, too much density in a hair system can be overbearing, particularly if they’ve been without hair for some time,” she adds. The main thing is that it shouldn’t look like a wig, which is often too thick and dense.
Base tones: While most Caucasian and Asian women use the same basic neutral base tones, African-American women come in many different skin tones and hues, which must be customized and personalized at the base for a natural-looking scalp, as if the hairs are growing right out of it and it perfectly matches the client’s skin tone.
Caring for hair systems made for African-Americans:
* Never brush hair from the top of the crown downward, because hair can get mixed and matted. Brush from the ends first, working your way up to reduce tangles. The hairs are not attached to a live follicle, so they can un-knot or simply break off. Caucasian hair can be a little silkier, so you can brush it gently.
* Wear a satin hair cap to bed, or make sure hair is safely contained in two loose ponytails or braids. Because of the hair’s chemical processing, it tends to mat very quickly if not protected at night.
* When shampooing, always do so in a shower and always in the direction that water and the hair naturally flow, which is down. Never pile hair up or rub it around. You must minimize tangling at all cost. Just massage gently with fingers at the cap to push shampoo and water through to clean your scalp underneath.
* Use a spray-in, leave-in conditioner to avoid buildup at the cap. Brush from the ends first, working out any tangles.
* Use special products and tools formulated and created for use on hair systems that your hair replacement specialist recommends and shows you how to use, no matter what your ethnicity. And stick to the same line of products.
* All tools should be used on the lowest heat setting, especially for hair systems for African-Americans, since the hair is already processed and more fragile.
“It’s a learning curve,” says Turner-Primus, “one that I take very seriously. I really listen to my clients about what they need their hair to do, and I take my time to show them how to get the best results. I let them participate in making choices in the creation of the hair system so they can have a vision of what they’re going to look like in it — then I help make it come true!
