The human hair Remy lace wigs line under the Janet Collection has 22 different lace wig choices. On the site, it is advertised as a full lace wig however, the lace is solely in the front and in the back. For women who simply want natural hairlines and to place hair in an updo, this works fine. If you are someone who wants freestyle parting throughout the lace wig, do not purchase from the Janet Collection in general without reading the description about the lace.
This line is strictly for the women who want straight human hair lace wigs or wavy textured hair. Of these 22 choices, many of the styles mimic each other only varying in length. To Janet Collection’s defense, the few styles that are mimicked are quality styles.
Encore Wigs
The Encore Lace Wig selection is a short list, indeed. While the line as a whole is listed under lace wigs, only 3 of the 12 wigs are lace wigs. The 3 lace wigs are said to be full lace and as before, this means front and back lace only. This line uses nano platinum which is human hair blended with heat resistant fiber. Only seek out this line of lace wigs if you specifically want nano plantium hair since style selection is very limited at only 3 curly styles.
One complaint beyond the style selection is the lace. As with many synthetic or discounted lace wigs, the lace is very rough. If you cut off all the lace and rely on wig clips then this is fine but gluing down rough lace to the head can be uncomfortable.
Whole Lace Wigs
You would think the whole lace wigs are Janet Collection’s version of the full lace wig but sadly, they are not. These are also just front and back lace. This lace serves its purpose but if you are not careful upon purchase, you may end up with a surprise. With 17 lace wigs, the majority are curly full bodied styles. These are some of the best lace wigs of the Janet Collection as they are synthetic hair but of a very good quality. It does not have that wig-like shine and the lace is slightly softer.
Also, there is one particular style that must be pointed out. Many straight lace wig styles lack body and form. The first lady synthetic lace wig beautifully contours the face with a cascade of layers that are sophisticated and stylish. This is some of the best factory styling on a synthetic lace wig with a straight texture that I have seen.
Janet Wigs
After seeing the last 3 lines, I have a sense of déjà vu. Many of the lines have a shared theme. If the texture is tightly curled, the length is short while looser curls and waves are all in long lengths. Even though the styles lack versatility, the hair quality on this synthetic hair line is quite good.
The color options and hair quality help to make up for the lacking styles. One con about the line is the hairline. It is on the thick side and you will probably have to tweeze out some of the density or create your own baby hairs.
Black Pearl Wigs
This line was the most disappointing which is unfortunate because it has great styles and a human form fit. The lace wigs of this line fit very well to the head for a snug fit. The hairlines on many of the styles are natural as well.
Black Pearl has 44 lace wigs with front and back lace. The one issue which can make or break this line for many women is the fullness of the hair. The fullness is not too much of a problem on the longer wavy styles but the shorter curled styles and straight textured lace wigs are awkward. The curly styles are so full that the lace wig begins to look like an afro because of layer after layer of curls.
The straight styles with exception of the “show girl” and “orchid” almost resemble unprocessed African-American hair after pressing with a hot comb. If you are looking for a sleek straight style, you will have trouble finding it here. With so much body on a straight style, I fear that tangling will come sooner than later.
Gold Pearl Wigs
This line is another disappoint following the Black Pearl lace wigs. 3 of the 12 lace wigs are straight styles with the rest being tight curls and tight waves. These have a very thick hairline which almost resembles a traditional wig.
Once again a body issue for the curly and wavy styles in this line. Even though these wavy styles are so full, it is a personal preference since full hair can work very well on some faces. This line follows in the footsteps of the Black Pearl lace wig line by including fit to human form technology and extended lace.
Kiss Me Wigs
The Kiss Me wig is actually a lace frontal and perhaps the newest in the Janet Collection. It only has one style and 12 inch length which comes in human hair and synthetic. The 100% Indian Remy hair never disappoints as it looks very natural and compliments the hairline very well.
Overall, the Janet Collection lace wigs are satisfactory. While some really wow the crowd, others need to be taken back to the drawing board. The majority of styles from these lines will be good purchases but you must do your research first. How To Wash And Maintain Your Lace Wig
How to wash and maintain Remy hair Lace Wigs. Lace wigs are professional products and it is extremely important you familiarise yourself with the texture of your lace wig. Only use products that work well with your lace unit’s texture. Some products you use on your own natural hair may not work well with your Full lace unit.
1. Before washing your Full lace Unit, gently brush using detangling brush or leave-in conditioner such as Brandywine to soften the unit so you do not pull on the fragile knots as this may cause shedding. Brush from tip of the wig to base, Never begin brushing from top or middle as this may cause damage or tangle the unit.
2. Ensure you have cleaned and removed any adhesive or tape residue around the perimeters of the lace using soft bristle brush and Oil based solvents such as C-22 Remover
3. Place your full lace wig on the Styrofoam head and use T pins to gently secure.
4. In a spray Bootle, mix a capful of shampoo and fill the remaining with Luke warm or cold water. It is very important to use shampoo that is suitable for your Full Lace wig texture. Products that work well are Silicon mix, Nearly Natural , Aveda, Paul Mitchell.
5. Place your Full lace wig on the Styrofoam head under a gentle stream of cold or luke warm water and pour or spray shampoo mix evenly over the wig and use a wide tooth rounded edge brush to distribute the shampoo evenly. remember to always comb from ends of the hair to the root, Never from top or middle. 6. Rinse your unit thoroughly on the Styrofoam head using gentle stream of cold water. 7. In a spray, mix a capful of conditioner and fill the remaining with cool water. It is important to use conditioner products that are suitable with your full lace wig texture. products we recommend are silicon mix, nearly natural, Redken Smooth down, Aveda, Paul Michelle
8. Place your Full Lace Wig on the Styrofoam head under a gentle stream of cold water. Pour or spray the conditioner mixture evenly over the unit and using a wide tooth rounded end comb to distribute the mixture all over the unit from tip to root of the unit. Remember not to comb from top or middle as this may cause damage or tangling.
For deep conditioning – you may spray the Nearly Natural Lace wig restorer evenly on the unit after applying the conditioner and allow to sit for 5 minutes before rinsing with cold water. This products will soften, restore and revive your unit sealing all split ends.
9. Rinse your Full lace wig thoroughly on the Styrofoam wig head in a gentle stream of cold water.
10. Blot dry your full lace wig with towel in gently patting motion.
Spray or apply your leave in conditioner if desired and allow to air dry.
11. To minimise shedding, Apply the Knot Sealer. This is done by turning the unit inside our and spraying the knot sealer inside of the base of your unit and dry with warm hair dryer. 2-3 coats of the knot sealer is recommended.
12. Style your Full lace wig as desired. Remember not to apply to many oil based products on the unit as this may weigh down the hair and cause tangling.
How to maintain and care for Curly Full Lace wigs
Curly Full lace wigs can be challenging if you are not experienced in how to care for curly hair. Be very gently and patient with your Curly Full lace wigs
Follow all the above steps. And ensure you use products that are suitable for Curly hair texture. Do not apply too many products such as moose, serums, and gels as this may cause build up on the hair and may provoke tangling and make hair harder to manage. Less is more. Hair should always have MOVEMENT!.
DO NOT brush Curly Full Lace Wig as this may change pattern of natural curls. You may use your fingers to separate the curls.
Braiding Curly Full Lace Wig at night before sleeping will maintain curl pattern and reduce restyling.
Maintain Your own hair underneath Your wig
Always try and remove your Wigs at least every 2 weeks and reapply of required. Skin naturally sheds and may build up under a lace wig and this may cause irritation and unhygienic.
Always shampoo, steam and condition your natural hair regularly.
Always oil your scalp to combat dryness and dandruff build up
Always dry your own hair thoroughly before reapplying your unit.
If you suffer from hair loss conditions such as alopecia, ensure you apply your treatments to your scalp at least once a week and keep your scalp clean. If you have any reaction to adhesive products, Stop immediately, You May Use Hypoallergenic adhesives such as Oil resistant white Glue for future applications.
If you are receiving treatments such as Chemotherapy; Ensure you use non chemical based adhesive products, solvent and sealants.
Store your wigs if not in use on Styrofoam heads, or satin bags and stuff the unit to maintain form and shape of the wig.

Our wigs can be treated in much the same way as your own hair. They can therefore be permed, coloured or heat treated. However, great care should be taken in treating your wig to reduce the likelihood of damage.
What are Knots?
Lace Wig Elegance produces wigs that are 100% hand tied and knotted. The hair is knotted into the lace securely with each strand of hair tightly hand tied with either a single knot or a double knot. The knots are bleached to give the appearance that hair is actually growing from the scalp.
What is Baby hair?
We use baby hair knotted into the lace on the periphery of the wig to make it look far more natural and undetectable. Will adhesives affect my hairline?

How long can I wear the wig before I have to remove it?
This depends on many factors; skin type, adhesive strength, climate, etc. Some customers are able to wear their wigs for 1-4 weeks at a time. However, due to easy application and removal, most customers are finding it preferable to remove their wigs on a weekly basis to care for their own hair, cleanse the lace and reapply. Although it is possible, daily removal of your wig is not recommended, as this will place additional stress on the lace and shorten the lifespan of your wig.
